My Story

As a non-fiction book coach & book production manager (with career coaching skills) I love to work with inspired professionals and business owners like you, who have a desire to connect with your world in a meaningful and impactful way through publishing. Meet some of my book clients HERE.

I am Bev Ryan, and I found my way into the exciting world of self-publishing when I launched my first national magazine, Work from Home, in 1997. I have shared that daunting and exciting career leap in Chapter 1 of my book, Smart Women Publish, to inspire you too to take your publishing dreams seriously. I went on to launch Honestly Woman magazine in 2006, and won several business and marketing awards because of the magazine – a local Quest Business Award, a Queensland Government industry award, and a national Marketing Communications Executive International (MCEI) award.

After the GFC impacted the economy in late 2008, I moved from publishing print magazines to the growing field of independent non-fiction publishing. From 2009 to 2011 I established and ran the Women’s Publishing Network, with 400 members and monthly workshops in Brisbane. It was a place women investigating self-publishing could network with others, and a place to find an array of expertise in that field.

I now support non-fiction authors through workshops and book coaching services, and provide full publishing services for their books, including editing, page and cover design, print coordination, and online distribution channels. See more about my publishing services HERE.

Bev Ryan stood out from the rest with her straightforward and no-nonsense approach. From the very first conversation with Bev I sensed I was talking with someone genuine, honest and professional, which made my decision to go with her very easy.

When discussing the publishing process I immediately felt at ease diving into an industry I knew nothing about, and Bev was readily available to answer the endless questions and queries of a first-time author.

With her expert advice and outstanding service I was able to achieve my goal of publishing Defy your Destiny, my first book. Bev has helped me launch the book internationally and it is now available through major online retailers including Amazon, Booktopia and Smashwords. I look forward to continuing this relationship with Bev Ryan for years to come.
