‘As a result of working with Bev from a real desire to write something to a book in my hands, I am now a published author. I would not have made any progress with my initial ideas if I had kept going alone.’

Hannah Schuhmann, author of ‘Confessions of a Woman in Real Estate’

Many people who want to write a book never begin.

Many who begin, never finish.

A well-developed, logical BOOK PLAN is your essential first step, whether you wish to publish independently or investigate more traditional options.

That plan provides the inspiration and clear path you need to keep going.

As a certified non-fiction book coach, Bev Ryan coaches and supports motivated women like you to BEGIN and FINISH writing your important coaching, business, or self-help/memoir manuscripts, AND turn them into beautiful books.

No matter whether you are:

$
doubting yourself or unclear about your topic
$
still struggling to pin down the outline of your book
$
stuck in the writing doldrums
$
or ready to have your manuscript turned into a book  …
Bev can work with you to ensure you finish your book AND publish, so you reap your rewards.

WHAT DOES COACHING LOOK LIKE?

It’s structured. It’s logical. It’s step-by-step. No BS. No overwhelm.
It’s customised coaching to meet you where you are at – and move you forward.

There will be work to do – but the good news is that you don’t have to wait until you feel good to do it.
In fact, doing the work will make you feel good.

No personality transplant required. You are enough.

HOW YOU CAN WORK WITH BEV

Book Coaching Framework

You can engage Bev for segments of this framework as set out below, OR the complete process.

A VERY GOOD PLACE TO START

PUBLISHING CONSULTATION

There are many steps and potential stumbling blocks along the way as you progress from an idea for your non-fiction book to a completed first draft to an edited manuscript to a published book. As a certified non-fiction book coach, and a book production manager, I am well-placed to provide the information, tools, support and connections you need at all stages in the above framework.

Sometimes a focussed one-hour coaching session with the right person at the right time will cut through many hours of watching videos, reading books, asking questions in groups, and attending ‘how-to’ webinar sessions. This one-hour session with me will review where you are in the process, and what you need to know and do next. Our meeting takes place on Zoom – simply pay and book a mutually-convenient time in my calendar using the ‘Book a Consultation’ link to set things in motion.

Cost: 1 hour – $210

(Longer sessions are available if needed as you progress with your book.)

DEVELOP YOUR FULL BOOK OUTLINE

STEPS 1 to 9 in the FRAMEWORK (above)

60-DAY PROGRAM (or less)

You have made the decision to author a book, and want to ensure you write the one that will help you achieve your business goals. In this program, you will work with Bev through a rigorous planning process, from idea to a full outline. (Steps 1 to 9 in the framework above).

In Step 2, you will also engage in a 90-minute book & business marketing session with Linda Johannesson of The Growth Garden, so you can begin preparing those essential components earlier rather than later.

When our work is complete, you will have moved from a vague idea and strong desire to mapping out the complete outline of your book, excited to see the shape it has taken. You will articulate the point of your book, know your readers, be happy with the flow of the content, and have a deep understanding of the value of your book.

Delivery: Comprehensive workbook based on the Author Accelerator Book Blueprint; Book Marketing Workbook, 6 Zoom sessions, and review of your blueprint.

Cost: $1780 (Payments available)

This program leads naturally to the ‘Begin to Write’ package (below).

WRITE KEY CHAPTERS

STEP 10 in the FRAMEWOK (above)

45-DAY PROGRAM

You have already completed the ‘Idea to Outline’ package above – OR – you come with a book plan of your own. You are ready to test your hand at writing, and want guidance to help you find your voice and style, and get your book underway.

In this program, you will go from book outline to completing drafts of 4 key chapters—Preface, Introduction, Chapter 1, and closing chapter. Bev will review your pages and this process will also highlight whether your plan is sound or whether you have more work to do on aspects of your book, like the point and the readership, before you keep writing.

As you complete these chapters you will gain further clarity on:

  • Why you wrote this book (preface)
  • What the reader will find in this book (introduction)
  • Addressing and ensuring a valuable reader’s path (opening and closing chapters that work together as ‘book-ends’ for the content within)

Delivery: Instructional worksheets, 5 Zoom calls, review of up to 10 pages per chapter.

Cost: $1280 (Two payments available)

This program leads naturally to the ‘First Draft Done’ package (below).

COMPLETE THE FIRST DRAFT

STEPS 11 and 12 in the FRAMEWORK (above)

WRITE YOUR BOOK IN 6 MONTHS (more or less)

You have completed the packages above OR you are coming to me to provide you with deadlines, accountability and support as you write, because you know you would not complete your book without it.

When our work is complete, you will have completed the first draft of your full manuscript. We will also develop your front cover design concept. (Extra design fee may be involved at that point.) You will enjoy a huge sense of achievement and pride as you move closer to seeing a real book in your hands and out in the world.

Average length – 6 months. No contracts. Monthly payments than can be cancelled or paused. You have two options:

  • Two accountability and coaching calls/month – $580/month
  • Two accountability and coaching calls/month PLUS review of 6000 words/month as you write – $1280/month

BOOK MARKETING SUPPORT

BEFORE, DURING and AFTER LAUNCH

A CHOICE OF SERVICES:

After a complimentary marketing consultation with book marketing expert Linda Johannesson from Growth Garden, you can choose from this suite of book marketing support options:

Budget Right is my first book and I needed assistance with everything, including how-to information, editing, design, production AND marketing of the book. I felt intimidated at first as I started to research how to self-publish. I contacted a few different companies, but they spoke a different language that left me feeling more confused. But when I first spoke to Bev, she was very helpful and reassuring, and explained the process so I finally felt it was possible to do it.

Later, when I sent my finished manuscript to Bev, she applauded me for writing a holistic book to help people struggling with finances, however she suggested I include my story. Bev made it a safe place for me to be vulnerable, and it proved to be pivotal in my own healing process.

I could not have done this without Bev and Linda Johannesson, the amazing marketing consultant Bev recommended, who is now helping me with marketing my book and growing my business.’

Carrie-Ann McLean

Author, Budget Right

‘My biggest challenge, as I prepared to write the book that will become essential to my business, was gathering all of the current content I have generated through various webinars, presentations and workshops, and creating a structure and flow that would bring it together and make sense to the reader. It felt overwhelming and paralysing: I was stuck, and knew I needed help to move forward.

I chose to work with Bev Ryan as my book coach after meeting with her on Zoom, and despite the time difference between the US and Australia, we found a way that worked for both, meeting several times a month for six months – evenings for me and early mornings for Bev.  After I engaged Bev and began working with her Book Blueprint framework, the book plan soon took on a definite structure. When I began to write chapters, it became “real”. I also realised how important it was to dive deeper and really write for the reader – not just at them. Bev was like a trusted friend as I wrote each section of my book, and nudged and guided me in the direction I needed to go, without judgement.

My book is now ready for editing and as I enter this publishing stage, I know I have written a book I am proud of, and one that I feel truly embodies what I want my readers to not only learn, but also incorporate into their own lives.’

“I’d spent almost two years writing as part of my healing process. I’ve always loved writing and wanted to be an author ‘one day’. As the words evolved into a ‘story’ I realised I was crafting my very own memoir. I really had no idea what I was doing and at around 40,000 words, I realised that I needed help. I discovered Bev and booked her for coaching. Best decision ever! Bev was patient and kind as I shared my story. She supported me through her coaching process and inspired me to keep crafting my story. She also provided amazing tools, such as a blueprint with a series of question to flesh out the various keys to successful storytelling. The outlining tool was a game changer for me – this is where my story started to become clearer (in my mind) and allowed my writing wings to soar. Bev supported me through all of this and helped me as I continue to craft my memoir and bring it to life. Thank you so much Bev!”

Janine L Phillips, Learning Designer

“Bev’s communication style really suited me. I am a single mum and I am ALWAYS busy. Bev worked at my pace, but also gently checked in to see where I was at and if I needed any assistance. I also love that she was so encouraging: all creatives are sensitive about their work and need support, but because it is my own lived story, I was even more delicate.

Bev’s book blueprint coaching program is the reason this book will be out there in the world. It is bespoke—you may use all of the elements or some, but what you do use from the toolkit is of the highest quality. I feel really grateful to have worked with Bev and I will definitely use her services in the future if I’m brave enough to write the second book that is floating around in my brain as we speak!”

–Erin Benjamin, author of a memoir-in-progress

“Creating an educational book is a new adventure for me – an opportunity to distill experience in an area for the possible benefit of other teachers. I’m now at a point where I need to decide about publishing. It was easy to discuss this with Bev, as her manner put me at ease straight away. She helped me find my next step and I felt welcomed into a new phase.”
